Project Budget does not collect, transmit, store on a server, or share your financial data. There is no backend. The app runs entirely in your browser.

What is stored, and where

Your profile data — accounts, categories, transactions, budgets, goals, and recurring templates — is written to your browser's localStorage under keys prefixed with projectbudget:. This data is local to the browser and device you are using.

What is transmitted

Page assets (HTML, CSS, JS, fonts) are fetched from the Project Budget host and from Bunny Fonts (a GDPR-compliant font CDN that does not log IP addresses or set cookies). No request carries financial data.

Optional analytics

If the maintainer chooses to enable site analytics, they will use Umami, a privacy-respecting tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. Analytics, if enabled, record page views only — never the contents of your budget.

Cookies

Project Budget does not set cookies.

Exporting and clearing your data

You can export your full profile to a JSON file at any time from the Export page. You can delete a profile from the Profiles page (a soft-delete that holds the data for seven days in case of an accident). To purge all Project Budget data, clear site data for this domain in your browser settings.
